Union State Minister Som Parkash reviews union government development and welfare schemes

Kapurthala : Mr. Som Prakash , Union Minister for State (MoS) Commerce and Industry today asked the officials to personally monitor the ongoing development projects and welfare schemes launched by the Union government to ensure timely completion and quality control besides ensuring reaching out the needy ones to provide benefits of welfare schemes.

Today in a review meeting of “DISHA” along with CO-chairman Mr. Jasbir Singh Gill MP Khadoor sahib , Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vishesh Sarangal , the Minister asked the officials to aware the people about the PM swanidhi program which was launched to facilitate the small shopkeepers/Vendors under which they will get interest free loan to establish their business .He asked the officials to launch a campaign to make the people aware in cities besides asking banks to provide loans in an easy way to the people .

Union state minister also asked the officials that the benefit of welfare schemes must reach to all eligible applicants. The minister has asked all the heads of departments to personally monitor the ongoing development projects to ensure quality check besides its timely completion. Besides that he also asked to put proposals for new development required to facilitate people.

The minister also reviews the PM Awas Yojana , National health mission , Jal Jeevan Mission , household tab connections to supply drinkable water to each and every home, swacch Bharat mission , Construction of roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sarak Yojana , National family benefit scheme , Beti Bachao, Beti Parao to ensure security and education for all girl students, MNREGA and Pradhan Mantri Krishi sinchai Yojana etc.

The minister also said that to save the ground water , Amrit Sarovar scheme has been launched under which 75 ponds to be developed in the district where water to be used for irrigation. District officials has informed that work on 37 ponds was going on full swing out of which 21 have been completed .Besides, the Minister also reviews the PM Awas Yojana under which 1922 eligible applicants would be covered in that as Rs. 2.46 crore has already been issued .

The minister also reviews the PM Sanman Nidhi Yojana under which 29161 farmers in the district getting benefits of that . He also asked the officials to ensure the completion of KYC of eligible farmers till March 31. It may be mentioned here that Rs. 2.28 crore has been transferred to bank accounts of farmers under this scheme in the district in 12th instalment.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sarangal assured the union state minister that the district administration would ensure the fully utilisation of Government funds in a speedy manner besides providing the maximum benefit of welfare schemes to the eligible applicants.He also informed that work on Medical college at Kapurthala is going on full swing as Tender process to be completed soon .

Talking about the Covid vaccination , Deputy Commissioner said that in the district, first dose of vaccination were taken by 99.88 % , followed by second dose of 89.96 %.He also asked the officials to submit utilisation certificates of projects completed in 15 days so that the district administration may avail more funds for development and social welfare .

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included ADC General Mr. Sager Setia , MC Kapurthala Commissioner Anupam Kler , Phagwara MC Commissioner Dr Nayan Jassal , ADC Developed Paramjit kaur , Representatives of MLAs , Non official members of DISHA and heads of all departments.
