Directed officers to ensure benefits of welfare schemes to every eligible beneficiary

Kapurthala : Union Minister of State Som Parkash, who is also the Chairman of DISHA ( District level development coordination and monitor committee), alongwith the CO -Chairman MP Mr Jasbir Singh Dimpa today reviewed the development projects and welfare schemes of the Union and Punjab Governments in Hoshiarpur and Khadoor sahib Parliament constituencies. Punjab Technical education and water conservation Minister Mr Rana Gurjit Singh was also present in the meeting.The Union Minister of State and Khadoor Sahib MP also asked the officials to ensure that the benefit of welfare schemes must be reached to all eligible beneficiaries at the grassroots level. They said that the common man must be at the centre stage while policy formation.Cabinet Minister Punjab Rana Gurjit singh also asked the officials to ensure timely distribution of food grains to the needy people under various welfare schemes as in many cases the people filed complaints of non receipt of wheat.Advocating the engagement of member Parliaments in the overall development of the khadoor sahib and Hoshiarpur parliament segments, the Minister said that the representatives of MPs must be involved in the discussions regarding formation of policies in this regard. policy formation and implementation of development projects .

Hailing the efforts of the health sector and other departments in fight against covid, the Minister said that the administration must remain alert to tackle the expected new south African covid variant besides enhancing the efforts for vaccination.The Minister and MP took a serious note of delay in road projects and asked the officials to personally monitor the progress of projects to ensure its timely completion with a quality control.Union Minister also ordered the civil surgeon to ensure the functioning of mobile medical units and scanning machines at Phagwara Civil hospital. They both reviewed the welfare schemes for pregnant ladies by health department, works of Municipal corporations Phagwara and Kapurthala, distribution of uniforms to students, loan facility for self employment under centrally sponsored schemes, child welfare schemes, distribution of food to poor people under PMKY-4 etc.Deputy commissioner Deepti Uppal has presented the status report on progress of development projects and welfare schemes.She also informed that the districtadministration is on high alert to check new south African covid variant. She also said that all three sanctioned oxygen plants at kapurthala, sultanpur lodhi and Phagwara are operational.Prominent amongst present on the occasion included non official members of DISHA , SSP Mr Harkamalpreet singh khakh, ADC D S P Angra , commissioner Phagwara Municipal corporation charandeep singh , commissioner MC kapurthala Aditya Uppal, SDMs of all 4 sun divisions besides district heads of all Government departments.
