Skill Development at Saket Hospital,Drug Rehabilitation Centre

Patiala : This is a unique initiative taken by the Patiala Administration (District Skill Committee) under the guidance of Sakshi Sawhney, Deputy Commissioner, to help the victims of drug abuse gain a skill during their stay at Rehabilitation centre and move a step closer to a life without drug addiction.
The second batch of skill course was inaugurated today by Isha Singal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (RD). The batch is being run in collaboration with the ICICI foundation, Mohali. A course of Multi Skill Technician will be run at Saket Hospital for 25 days post which they will be certified by ICICI foundation.
Sh. Abhishek Sharma, Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow, Patiala along with DPMU, PSDM, Patiala Upkar Singh, Gagandeep Kaur and Harleen Kaur played a vital role in project implementation.At the inauguration ceremony, ADC Isha Singal addressed the candidates, and motivated them to use this opportunity by focusing on the importance of skills in the contemporary world. Also, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Deputy Medical Commissioner, asked the candidates to utilise this unique opportunity and asked them to channelise their energy towards constructive activities like learning new skills.
Other key note speakers involved Dr. Parminder Kaur, Centre Head, Saket Hospital, Abhishek Sharma, MGNF, and Deepak Sharma, Centre Head, ICICI Foundation, Mohali.
