SAS Nagar Police unearthed an inter-state gang involved in preparing fake vehicle RCs

SAS Nagar : Sh. Vivek Sheel Soni IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar briefed the media that SAS Nagar Police unearthed the fake registration scam, in the supervision of Sh. Navreet Singh Virk, PPS, SP(R), SAS Nagar and under the guidance of Sh. Bikramjit Singh Brar, PPS, DSP, Sub Divsion, Zirakpur.

Acting on a reliable input, Insp. Deepinder Singh, SHO Police station Zirakpur registered a case FIR No. 439, dated 21-10-2022 u/s 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B, IPC, 25-54-59 Arms Act PS Zirakpur against the 6 persons preparing fake vehicle Registration Certificates (RCs).

SSP, SAS Nagar briefed that acting on tip-off, on 21-10-2022, SAS Nagar Police arrested 2 accused namely Hira Singh s/o Bhupinder Singh r/o Street no. 2, Guru Nanak Colony near Udham Singh Chownk, Distt.

Hanumangarh, Rajasthan (current address H no. 1578, Gulmohar City, Kharar, Distt. Mohali) and Harish Singh Mehra s/o Lal Singh Mehra r/o Hno. 29, vill. Chona, Distt. Almorah, Uttrakhand from Zirakpur lights point, Zirakpur.

14 fake vehicle RCs were recovered from accused Hira Singh and 5 fake vehicle RCs were recovered from accused Harish Singh Mehra.Sh. Soni further briefed that during the course of investigation, accused Surinder Singh @ Sindhu r/o Hanumangarh was arrested from Guru Nanak Colony, Sangria Rajasthan on 24-10-2022 and 7 fake vehicle RCs were recovered from him.

On 26-10-2022 accused Lakhwinder Singh @ Noni Bansal was arrested from Balaji E-Mitra, Agarsan market, Sangria, Rajasthan by Police and 1 Laptop, 1 CPU, 1 Epson colored printer L-805 with tray and 6 unfilled RC were recovered from him.

Efforts are being made to arrest other accused involved in this gang. Further investigation is in process.
