Sarpanches, Panchyat members along with supporters of 42 villages from join AAP under the leadership of Harchand Singh Barsat

Jalandhar : The Aam Aadmi Party got a major boost today when the incumbent and former Sarpanches, Panch and hundreds of their supporters of more than 42 villages of Shahkot in Jalandhar district joined the party.

All newly joined members were formally welcomed into the party by AAP Punjab General Secretary and Mandi Board Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat. Panchayat members left Akali Dal, Congress and BSP parties and joined AAP.

A program organized by Ratan Singh, who had contested on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket from the Shahkot constituency. The Aam Aadmi Party got a huge boost for the upcoming by-elections with the joining of hundreds of new members.

Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Mangal Singh Bassi, District President Sarabjit Singh, Atam Prakash Bablu and a large number of office bearers and other dignitaries were also present in this event.

Among the newly added members are hail from the villages of Miyawal Arya, Aidalpur, Banhamani Khurd, Chak Bahmaniya, Bajwa Khurd, Budhanwal, Danewal, Sahlanagar, Sekhewal, Haveli Patti, Badshahpur, Kasupur Khanpur Rajputan, Muridwal, Malupur, Nihaluwal, Madala of Block Lohia in Block Shahkot., Kang Khurd, Kotha, Nasirpur, Manak, Sabuwal Kamalpur, Kakar Kalan, Yokpur Kalan, Nawa village Khalewal, Turna, Mahmunwal Mahala, and Ismailpur village of Block Mehtpur, Kang Wale Bille, Gosuwal, Singhpur Bet, Baloki Khurd , Bir Blocki, Mehtapur Ward 11, Inewal, Roli and many others village panchayats.

Speaking on the occasion, the general secretary of the party, Harchand Singh Barsat, said that with the newly joined members, the Aam Aadmi Party has gained strength in the upcoming Jalandhar by-election and the party will win a big victory.

He said that people were troubled by the corrupt system of Congress and Akali Dal for a long time and seeing the pro-people and honest work of Aam Aadmi Party, people have got a good political alternative.

He formally welcomed the newly joined members into the party and welcomed them. Harchand Barsat invited all the panchayats to join the steps of the state government to do the work of public welfare and development and said that we all have to work together to make Punjab ‘Rangla Punjab’.

Harchand Singh Barsat said that the people of Punjab have seen the corrupt governments of Akali Dal and Congress and have seen the working politics of Aam Aadmi Party for a year now. That is why leaders and common people are continuously joining AAP and party will register a landslide victory in the upcoming Jalandhar by-election.
