BSP supremo Mayawati attacked on Congress over using a Dalit CM face in Punjab

Nawanshahr : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati made a scathing attack on Congress over using a Dalit CM face for political gains.”Instead of going to Naina Devi temple, Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi should have gone to take the blessings of Sant Ravidas. We have no objection to him visiting the temple, but he should also have sent a positive message to Dalits,” Mayawati said.She added, “The truth is that due to their bad situation, they are forced to choose a Dalit face in Punjab. I don’t think they will come to power. And even if they do, they will sideline Channi. The CM Channi should know that he is being used.””Congress failed to fulfil the promises made by the party in Punjab. The schemes for weaker sections have been discontinued,” she said. During her rally, Mayawati also took a jibe at the BJP, saying that the party is on the same track as Congress. “The BJP is also going the capitalist way,” she added.

Mayawati, while appealing to the people to vote for the alliance, said that once they come to power, “The Centre’s anti-farmer policies will be taken back.”Because of these policies, the condition of Dalits and poor farmers have become worse,” she said, adding, “Kashi Ram wanted to form a government in Punjab but his dream never came true. Please vote for the alliance.”The BSP supremo also attacked the Aam Aadami Party government by saying, “AAP did nothing during Covid and UP and Bihar workers were left in a lurch. They had no choice but to leave the capital and go to UP and Bihar.”She further attacked Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, saying that “he is habitual of making fake promises.””Look at the electricity situation in Delhi. The loopholes and the vacuum created by Congress have indeed been filled by AAP but they haven’t lived up to their promises. There is massive unemployment. However, the BSP-SAD alliance will think of employment opportunities.

During her rally, Mayawati announced that if the BSP-SAD alliance comes to power in Punjab, Sukhbir Badal will be chosen as the deputy CM, adding, “The face of our alliance is Sukhbir Singh Badal,” she said.While speaking at the rally, Sukhbir Badal announced the establishment of Baba Ambedkar University at Doaba Belt and Kanshi Ram Medical University in Punjab.He also heaped praise on Mayawati and called Congress “anti-Dalit.” He said that he had initiated projects to make sacred spots for Guru Ravidas but congress came and stalled the project.He also named several schemes which were discontinued by Congress. “Captain Amrinder misled Punjab. He spent much of his time in his farmhouse.”Badal also hit out at Kejriwal, saying that the party are asking for Ek Mauka (one chance) but did he ever come to the rescue of Punjab or provide help. “However, SAD workers helped Delhi during Covid by providing food and oxygen. He wants to shut thermal plants in Punjab. He said he would waive electricity bills, but look what he has done in Delhi.
