Cabinet Minister Vijay Inder Singla pays tributes to Namdhari Martyrs during state level function at Malerkotla

Malerkotla/Sangrur : Punjab school education and PWD minister Vijay Inder Singla, on Sunday, paid rich tributes to the 66 Kuka Sikh martyrs here at Malerkotla during a state level function organized by Punjab government. While addressing a huge gathering in presence of Satguru Uday Singh, the cabinet minister assured that the state government led by CM Capt. Amarinder Singh will always stand by the Namdhari sangat.Mr. Vijay Inder Singla recalled the sacrifice of the Kuka patriots in 1872, when the 66 Namdhari Sikhs voluntarily stood in front of British cannons. He said that the great sacrifice of those total 80 martyrs could never be forgotten. He added that it is inspirational also for all of us as apart from the other 65 martyrs, there was a short stature Namdhari who himself brought the stones and pebbles to get sacrificed in front of the canon.Mr. Singla also remembered the contribution of Satguru Ram Singh to the society and said that he was the pioneer and the great revolutionary of independence movement. He added that the British had enslaved the Indians with help of their –Divide and Rule policy and in answer to this, Satguru adopted –Unite and Fight-. He said that after the call of Namdhari Guru, people got united and a formidable force was prepared to throw the Britishers out of the country.On the occasion, Chairman PEDA HS Hanspal, DC Ramvir, SSP Vivek Sheel Soni, President Vishav Namdhari Sangat Surinder Singh Namdhari, ADC Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, SDM T. Benith, among several other dignitaries, were also present.
