Punjab government to soon complete process of regularising services of safai sewaks and sewerage men : Charanjit Singh Channi

Ludhiana : Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi today said that state government will soon compete the process of regularising services of Safai sewaks and sewerage men in the state.Addressing the gathering after handing over a cheque of Rs 1.83 crore for development of Bhagwan Valmiki Bhawan here today, the Chief Minister said that the state government has already set the ball in rolling for regularising the services of safai sewaks and sewerage men. He said that the entire process will be completed shortly to give reprieve to these people. CM Channi said that he has already passed on the necessary directions for this purpose.The Chief Minister said that the state government is leaving no stone unturned for well being of poorest of poor section of society. He said that this is part of the commitment of state government to ensure comprehensive development of the state and prosperity of its people. CM Channi also said that his government is making concerted efforts to make Punjab a front runner state in the country.

The Chief Minister further said that in order to perpetuate the rich legacy of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji in every nook and corner of the world, the Punjab government has already announced a budgetary grant of Rs. 5 crore annually for already existing the Bhagwan Valmiki Ji’s Chair in Guru Nanak Dev University. Likewise, he said that a chair has been established in the name of legendary Sikh Warrior Shaheed Baba Jiwan Singh ji (Bhai Jaita ji) and a devout companion of Dasmesh Pita Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji, who carried the severed head (sheesh) of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji from Chandni Chowk, Delhi to Anandpur Sahib braving all odds amid the tyranny unleashed by the then Mughal regime. Exhorting the people to follow the path and high ideals shown by Bhagwan Valmiki Ji so as to carve out an egalitarian society, CM Channi urged the people to further strengthen the ethos of peace, harmony, brotherhood and amity, which was need of the hour.Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Cabinet Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Chairman Punjab Warehousing Corporation and MLA Mr Kuldeep Singh Vaid, MLA Mr Surinder Dawar, Mayor Mr Balkar Singh and others.
