Kapurthala starts ” self defence training program” for schools girls

Kapurthala : In a major step to provide a great sense of security to the school girls in the Kapurthala , the district administration has today launched a 45 says ” self defence ” program, for which the asian gold medalist in martial art in 1986 at Hong Kong Gurpreet Rozy Sethi would provide his esteemed services .Deputy commissioner kapurthala Deepti Uppal who is personally looking after the implementation of this noble initiative across the district, said that ” being a lady she wants girls to deal the persons with bad intentions with iron hands and the district administration would provide all kind of assistance to the girls for that”.The training programs were launched today at various Government schools at Kapurthala, Phagwara, Bholath, Sultanpur . In kapurthala it was launched by the ADC General Mr Rahul Chabha . Under first phase a Batch of 500 girls to be trained from the classes of 9th and 11th. The instructions team includes 8 martial artists.The incahrge of the team Rozy sethi said that the training program have fully professional approach as it would be on the basis of ” Locks and choks ” art . It will prepare the girls to use their hands as weapons to save themselves besides using Pens, Pencils, Bags, Clips etc for defence from any misbehavior.Rozy sethi who were used to trained the USA Marines in Phillipines from 1991 to 1992 besides providing training to security troops of Phillipines President from 1994 to 1998 , said that it will be game changer for the depressed section of the society as it will not only provide sense of security but also boost their morale in a great way.
