Guru Nanak stadium to witness complete facelift-Rana Gurjit singh and Pargat singh visits stadium

Kapurthala : The Guru Nanak Dev stadium in kapurthala would witnessed the complete transformation into a ultra modern sports facility centre to further upgrade the sports infrastructure in the state to further boost the sports activities.Today during the visit to the stadium MLA Rana Gurjit singh and Padma Shri MLA Pargat singh said that the Punjab Government has decided to establish multi purpose sport stadium in each 5 villages of blocks as well to upgrade the sport stadium in cities.Rana Gurjit singh said that the former Olympian Pargat singh would not guide the sports activities here but also preside over the blue print process to provide a massive change in the stadium..It was decided to set up a sprinkling system in football and cricket ground besides on the athletics track besides fully renovating basketball and badminton courts.They asked the district sports officer Jasmeet kaur to submit the comprehensive plan in 15 days to further pursue the case with the sports department.Prominent amongst present on the occasion included international hovkey player Ripudaman singh, International athlete Jaswinder singh.
