Jalandhar : In a bid to detect and treat Covid patients with co-morbidities at the earliest to minimize Case Fatality Rate (CFR), Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Wednesday said that district administration will run a vigorous campaign on the lines of Pulse Polio drive to motivate the people for reporting to the doctors without fail in case of fever or flu-like symptoms and get tested for Covid.During brainstorming session of an expert committee for the management of level-III Covid patients, along with doctors of Civil Hospital and private health institutions held to minimize the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) in Jalandhar, Deputy Commissioner said the foremost priority is to protect the human lives from the pandemic.He said that sensitization activities would be carried out at the grassroots level to take the message of contacting the doctor immediately on very first symptoms and get tested for Covid so that timely treatment can be ensured to the persons with co-morbidities. He said that this would further help to contain the spread of the virus by breaking the transmission chain.
He asked the people not to take the pandemic lightly and extend fulsome support to the health department and administration in fighting the battle by reporting the symptoms to the doctors without fail.Ghanshyam Thori also told that campaign would also be duly started on the social medial platforms for pursuing the people to come forward and get tested for Covid.He also said strict action is already intensified against the miscreants who were spreading the rumours of organ harvesting and profiteering in the wake of Covid-19.Meanwhile, Professor HOD Chest and Pulmonary Medicine’s Dr Vishal Chopra and Chandigarh’s PGIMER MD Anaesthesia & Associate Professor Dr Kamal Kajal discussed the recent studies for ensuring better treatment of level-III Covid patients and saving lives, with the doctors during the session. They asked the doctors to contact them at any time for any kind of help in tackling serious Covid cases especially those undergoing treatment in ICU as saving the human lives from Covid is paramount importance. On the occasion, PUDA Estate Officer Navneet Kaur Bal who is also Covid Patient Tracking Officer, DMC Dr Jyoti, Dr Paramjit Singh, Dr Satish Kumar, IMA Punjab Head Dr Navjot Dahiya and others were present.
