Balbir Singh Sidhu lays foundation stone of 30-bedded MCH Centre in Budhlada

Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the much ambitious 30-bedded Mother and Child Healthcare (MCH) Centre at Sub-Divisional Hospital in Budhlada.Health Minister was accompanied by MLA Mansa Najjar Singh Mansahia, MLA Budhlada Budh Ram, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sukhpreet Singh Sidhu, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Budhlada Sagar Setia and Civil Surgeon Dr Lal Chand Thakral.While addressing the gathering, Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said that since the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government has taken the charge as many as 25 such MCH centres have been established, of which nine will be inaugurated soon.He said that the construction of MCH centre, worth Rs 6 crores being established in the Budhlada will be started immediately and

private rooms, recovery ward, isolation ward, laboratory, child critical care unit and Operation Theatre to provide the best treatment to the mothers and children.Prior to laying the foundation stone of MCH, Cabinet Minister also attended the event organised by Rotary International District 3090 to donate 25 ventilators worth 25 lakhs, 2 Ambulances worth Rs 15 lakhs, 1.25 masks, 150 thermometers and 1500 PPE kits for the Civil Hospitals of the state. Health Minister expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club for the donation amid the Coronavirus pandemic.He said that to check the community spread, the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh under the Mission Fateh has launched a mobile-based app- ‘Ghar Ghar Nigrani’, to undertake house to house surveillance in the state in an ongoing process, till the elimination of the pandemic.Meanwhile, Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu appealed public to strictly adhere to the COVID safety protocols including wearing face masks, maintaining social distance, washing and sanitising hands frequently.
