Rayat Bahra University hosts a workshop on social cohesion

Mohali : The University of School of Management Studies, Rayat Bahra University, organized a workshop on Social Cohesion-Convene: Collate: Contribute.Dr. Vibha Taluja, President of The Association for Social Health in India (ASHI) Haryana State Branch, was the resource person for the event. The workshop was attended by students along with faculty members.Dr Vibha Taluja discussed the challenging conditions that lead to exploitation of women and children for anti-social purposes.

The resource person also enlightened the students about social cohesion and how to work towards betterment of the society. In her presidential address, she stressed the need to reorient ourselves and work towards bringing oneness in our consciousness.Prof Richa Ranjan, Dean, University School of Law, who was the keynote speaker of the day, discussed how an individual can contribute for upliftment of the downtrodden in the society and encouraged the students to contribute to social cohesion.

Sarvpriya Nirmohi, Director, University School of Media Studies, shared his views on individual’s actions conforming to social responsibility, and their impact on the community as a whole.On this special occasion Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Taluja for sharing her valuable insights during the session.Dr Avikshit, Dean, University School of Management Studies, welcomed the dignitaries and discussed the need for deliberations on the complex construct that is social cohesion.

The session concluded with a question- answer session followed by a vote of thanks.The concluding session was coordinated by Head, Department of Management Anshu Gauba.The workshop set the pace for the contribution of educational institutions in sharing the values of loyalty, trust and social relations in making the world a better place.
