Ludhiana : Paying tributes to the heroes of the independence struggle, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Thursday dedicated the ‘Freedom Fighters’ wall in the district administrative complex.
Hailing the initiative of Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik, Speaker said that this was a wonderful effort by administration to keep younger generation abreast about freedom fighters belonging to Ludhiana and their vital contribution for the country.
He said that the younger generation must take inspiration from them to serve the motherland.The Speaker glanced on the photographs of the freedom fighters on the wall and said that they laid their lives for us and this wall was just a humble tribute to these real heroes of the country.
Sandhwan said that the Punjab government was taking historic and public welfare decisions to make the state for which dreams were seen by our freedom fighters.Later, he also inaugurated a child corner in the administrative complex.
He also interacted with family members of freedom fighters, who appreciated district administration for always redressing to the issues related to them.Prominent amongst present on the occasion included Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik, Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh Sidhu and others.
