Dc Describes Education As Catalyst For Overall Development Of The Youth

Jalandhar : The seventh edition of the Spark career guidance fest today had a dazzling start as hundreds of students from across the district converged here at the local Guru Gobind Singh Stadium for getting valuable career related guidance from the various experts.

Inaugurating the event, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Jaspreet Singh declared the fest open on Wednesday morning amongst thunderous applause by the students.In his address, the DC deveined education as the key for overall development of a person.

He said besides ensuring comprehensive development of a person education open new vistas for the individual in varied fields. He said that the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was committed for imparting quality education to the students for which concerted efforts were being made.

The deputy Commissioner congratulated the entire team of district administration for organising the mega event to give vital career related guidance to students in the district.Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner welcomed the dignitaries on the occasion and gave brief introduction about the event.

He envisioned that ‘Spark-career guidance fest would act as a milestone for giving right direction to the career of the youth of the district. Mr. Singh said that district administration aims at making the youth an active partner in the socio-economic growth of the state by grooming them for future challenges.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that every effort would be made in future to organize more such events for preparing the students for coming times. He said that the time was not far when the students who would benefitted from this fest would scale new heights in future and script new history in their lives.

He expressed hope that the result oriented guidance given by the experts of the varied fields would ensure holistic development of the students.Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Mahajan told the students that the three golden principles of hard-work, dedication and perseverance could be instrumental in ensuring success of students.

He asked the students to adopt these principles along with discipline to succeed in life. He said that this would help the students to excel in their lives.Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included SDM Dr. Jai Inder Singh, Balbir Raj Singh, Assistant Commissioner Pankaj Bansal, and SVEEP Nodal Officer Surjit Lal.

During the event students from across various educational institutions presented glimpse of different cultures of the country through their choreography. Students from HMV college presented the welcome song, followed by Mime activity, cultural activity by IVY World School, Giddha performance by SD Phullarwan School, and Bhangra by students of DAV University.
