Pargat Singh Hands Over Cheques Worth Rs. 1.07 Crore To 13 Panchayats For Development Works

Exhorts Panchayats To Complete All Projects Within Timeline Besides Focusing On Quality Of Works

Jalandhar : Continuing his drive to distribute funds to Panchayats for development work, Cabinet Minister Pargat Singh today handed over the cheques worth Rs. 1.07 crore to 13 Panchayats of his constituency for various projects. These villages included Kot Khurd (9 lakh), Alipur (10), kukkar Pind (10), Bambiawal (10), Kheda (9), Kasimpur (8), Sabhrai (9), Channanpur (10), Jamsher (12), Jagral (11), and Nanak Pindi (9 lakh).Speaking on the occasion, Sports and Education Minister Pargat Singh said that this grant would further ensure the holistic development of the rural areas at par with the cities, adding that the gram panchayats must utilize all these funds within stipulated time-frame. Mr. Pargat Singh said that the state government was committed towards the all-round development of the villages for which a slew of initiatives were already launched by the state government.

He also said that the state government has emphasized the improvement of the rural road network, availability of clean drinking water, strengthening of infrastructure in schools, healthcare facilities in villages, and construction of model playgrounds for the rural folk. Mr. Pargat Singh said that the Sarpanches of these villages were asked to immediately initiate the development works in their respective villages as there was no paucity of funds for the rural development. The amount would be spent to develop drainage systems, roads, parks, and other infrastructure in the villages, he added. Meanwhile, the minister had interaction with the people of villages where he listened to their problems and issued on spot directions to authorities concerned to resolve their issues immediately.
