Hoshiarpur : Now in Hoshiarpur any one in exigency can get the oxygen concentrator with the District Administration on Tuesday launched ‘Red Cross Oxygen Concentrators Bank’.To facilitate COVID patients, the bank had been setup at local Red Cross complex to help in the treatment of such patients in district. These concentrators will be given to patients of the area free of cost.Having 33 oxygen concentrators, the bank will provide much needed help to patients amid surge in infection cases. A dedicated team has been deputed to assist the patients seeking oxygen concentrators.While unveiling the bank, Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait said that the Sun foundation and other organisations of district had provided oxygen concentrators to the ‘Red Cross Oxygen Concentrator Bank’, which would be given to patients on the recommendations of the Committee. She informed that these concentrators would be provided to beneficiaries free of cost for seven to 10 days or till the time period recommended by the said Committee.
The family of beneficiary will be responsible to get the concentrator from bank besides giving back after its usage well in time.A committee comprising Secretary Red Cross has been appointed as Member Secretary-cum-Coordinator Naresh Gupta along with members including District Health & Family Welfare Officer Dr. Sunil Ahir and Social Worker Agyapal Singh. Apneet Riyait mentioned that anyone could contact the committee to get oxygen concentrators in any exigency.Any citizen suffering from COVID-19 can avail this facility, said the Deputy Commissioner adding that they can take concentrators to home by coordinating with the committee members. Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait also said that the existing number of oxygen concentrators would be increased in time to come with the help of social organisations in the district. She also appealed the beneficiaries to avail this facility by furnishing prescription of doctor and aadhar cards of patient and attendant. The volunteers of Red Cross Society will visit the homes of patients to check the operation of concentrators besides enquiring about the well being of them.
