Over Thousand Applications Approved On-The-Spot During Suvidha Camp In Jalandhar

Jalandhar : As many as 1030 applicantions for various citizen services and schemes have been approved on-the-spot during a `Suvidha Camp’ held here at Red Cross Bhawan Jalandhar wherein Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora and Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh jointly handed over the approval letters to beneficiaries.

Presiding over the event, the MLA and the DC said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led state government is committed to serving people of Punjab through quick disposal of their grievances and prompt delivery of citizen services.

They said that this camp reflects upon the government’s resolve to serve people near their homes by organizing such camps at different localities. MLA Raman Arora lauded the effort of the Jalandhar Administration led by DC Jaspreet Singh for holding this camp to facilitate people in huge numbers.

During the camp ten government departments including Zila Parishad, Urban Development, Municipal Corporation Jalandhar, District Social Security Office, District Program Office, District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise, DRA, Punjab Skill Development Mission, Horticulture, and Labour Department set up their counters in the camp to showcase pro-people schemes being run by the government, thereby providing the applicants with an opportunity to apply directly in the camp.

Pointing out further, Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh said that over one thousand applications have been approved in the camp including 22 applications under pension scheme, and 63 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.

Likewise, 12 under Prime Minister Svanidhi Yojna. During the camp a total of 30 job cards were issued to beneficiaries registered under Punjab Construction Workers Welfare Board, and 25 youngsters received appointment letters under the employment program.

Similarly, 30 applicants received kits under National Urban Livelihood Mission, and 30 got their certificates under Gramin Kaushal Vikas Scheme after completing their training under the mission. Subsidy letters were issued to five progressive farmers by the horticulture department.

Meanwhile, special counters were also set up by the officials of revenue department to decide mutation cases wherein a total of 730 such cases were decided on-the-spot. Tehsildar-1 decided 118 cases, Nayab Tehsildar-1 decided 211, Tehsildar-2 decided 166 cases and, Nayab Tehsildar-2 decided 177 cases pertaining to mutation.

Likewise, 60 fresh applications were received for services belonging to the labour department, 15 applications for services of Sewa Kendras were also entertained in the camp.The Deputy Commissioner thanked the MLA Raman Arora for presiding over the camp ensuring that the district administration would continue to hold such events in the future.

On the occasion SDM Jalandhar-1 Dr. Jai Inder Singh, SDM Jalandhar-2 Balbir Raj Singh, Assistant Commissioner (G) Gursimran Jit Kaur, Secretary Red Cross Inderdev Minhas, and other officers were present.
