Om Prakash Soni directs to set up Jan Aushdhi Kendra at Amritsar Medical College

Chandigarh : Punjab Medical Education and Research Minister Om Prakash Soni today directed to set up a Jan Aushadhi Centre at Government Medical College, Amritsar.While presiding over a high-level meeting to review the working mechanism of Government Medical College Patiala and Amritsar here today, Mr. Soni said that Jan Aushdhi Centre at Amritsar will provide much-needed respite with affordable generic drugs to local residents.During the meeting Principal Secretary of the department, Mr. Alok Shekhar informed that the construction work of State Cancer Institute Amritsar was in full swing and it would be completed soon and dedicated to the people of Punjab. He said that Super Specialist Services for Cancer treatment at Government Medical College, Patiala would also be started shortly.Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Dr. Sujata Sharma, Director Medical Education and Research, Dr. Akashdeep Agarwal, Joint Director, Dr. Rajan Singla, Principal, Government Medical College, Patiala, Dr. HS Rekhi, Medical Superintendent, Government Medical College, Patiala and Dr. Rajiv Devgan, Principal, Medical College, Amritsar.
