LPU conferred with “Top Online and Distance Learning Institute of India Award-2021”

Jalandhar : LPU has once again emerged as a leader in fostering innovation and excellence in the higher education sector. Recently, India’s premier current affairs and career magazine, competition success review (CSR) has honoured LPU by bestowing “Top Online and Distance Learning Institute of India Award 2021”.Every year, the CSR group felicitates and acknowledges excellence in the field of distance/ online education, and LPU has regularly been assessed more developed to get recognised as a unique name in this sector. In fact, LPU has consistently bagged top ranks, awards, accreditations and coveted positions in various categories from reputed agencies. LPU has been offering affordable quality education to distance learners for the last 14 years, and has consistently been working towards enhancing its students’ learning experience.LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal shares: “We commenced our distance education programme with merely 500 students in the year 2008.
Since then, every year more than 20000 students trust LPU for their life-long learning needs.” Mr Mittal added: “It is our focus that we will continue to make education affordable and accessible to learners and keep on contributing significantly to the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education in the country.”In fact, the GER for India is lower than the world average and much-lower than most of the developed countries. The National Education Policy- 2020 has fixed a target of almost doubling it by 2030. LPU is already progressing on these lines increasingly.Worth mentioning, National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2020 by the Ministry of Education (Govt. of India) ranked LPU amongst top 100 universities and institutes of India in ‘Overall’ category. Recently, LPU has also been included amongst the top 200 Universities of the world in the prestigious Times Higher Education Impact Rankings- 2021. Among all Indian Universities, LPU is ranked 2nd, where only three Indian universities have made to the top 200 list, globally.
