Jalandhar : To bring maximum numbers of eligible beneficiaries under the ambit of vaccination drive, district administration Jalandhar has augmented its vaccination capacity to 30,000 doses daily with 237 functional session sites across the district.Chairing a Covid-19 review meeting at the district administrative complex, the deputy commissioner said that the administration would go on a mission mode in the coming days to cover a large population under this drive. ”Since the Covid-19 cases were resurging in the district, it was the need of the hour that all the eligible beneficiaries received the vaccine jab at the earliest”, said Mr. Thori. He further added that it would only be possible with public participation and exhorted people to come forward for the inoculation.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner reviewed the beds’ availability at the Covid care centers across the district and directed all the nodal officers to regularly these centers to ensure maximum numbers of beds were available in Jalandhar to tackle any kind of emergency. During the meeting, the DC informed that as many as 50 new beds have been added today through concerted efforts of nodal officers. He stated that people can now check real-time beds’ availability at the Covid care centers at the administration’s website www.jalandhar.nic.in or at Covid and civil hospital helpline numbers 0181-2224417, 2224848 respectively. The deputy commissioner asked all officers to ensure the data entry of vaccination in a real-time manner so that consolidated reports could be prepared regularly to analyze the status of inoculation drive in Jalandhar. Notably, as many as 5174 eligible beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the district on Tuesday by taking a total tally to above 86,000.
