450 Anganwari Workers Trained at Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) Program

Chandigarh : Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights organised a 2 Day training program where 450 Anganwari workers participated. Their effort to ensure ration, each child at the doorstep was appreciated and they were trained to reach out every corner of their area to ensure safety measures for the children to protect from 3rd wave of COVID 19. The objective of the training program was to create awareness and train the Anganwari workers so that they are able to plan and conduct appropriate ECCE activities. Additionally, the program also focused on aspects of ECCE curriculum and pedagogical approaches to ensure optimal and holistic development of young children so that they are ready to start formal schooling.The specialized Dr. Amanpreet Kaur and Dr. Nimrat Sandhu from B.R. Ambedkar College spoke on the topic of holistic growth with focus on mental development. They highlighted the various age appropriate behaviours at various stages from 0- 6 years which reflect on the growth journey of the children. During the training session, senior doctor Dr. Amanpreet Kaur and Dr. Nimrat Sandhu spoke about how to provide safe environment for children’s and health tips to Anganwari worker.
Dr Amanpreet kaur highlighted about transitional behaviour change of children and how to assess child appropriate behaviour without knowing them is important she also says to focus on children language physical and social development.Ms. Savita, CDPO spoke about the new online assessment framework and child assessment cards. The Integrated Child Protection Services measures where spoken by Ms. Tabussum Khan, DCPO and Sh. Gurnam Singh, Member CWC.Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson CCPCR said, “for the Protection of 0-6 children Anganwari’s with CCPCR will reach the ground level & will be ensure safe and healthy environment all over. The COVID times are of paramount importance where we should focus even more ECCE. Ms Pooja Punchhi, Member CCPCR spoke about the holistic development of the children and looked from the aspects of the plants like watering, manuring, pruning, etc. The Program Officer Ms Niti Mohan highlighted, ‘“CCPCR will be sharing the brochure and posters on ICPS to enhance their understanding on Child Protection. Additionally, CCPCR has launched a program ‘Haste Aangan’ “to enable holistic growth and wellbeing of children from 0-6 years starting from 2nd August 2021”.
