Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema starts Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Hariawal Lehar in Dirba Constituency

50,000 saplings and 115 trivainis to be planted in Dirba assembly constituency: Cabinet Minister

Rogla/Dirba : Punjab Finance Minister Mr. Harpal Singh Cheema today launched the Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Hariawal Lehar here from Rogla village in his assembly constituency Dirba. The minister informed that under the campaign 50 thousand traditional saplings and 115 trivainis will be planted in the assembly constituency.

The Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema also planted saplings in Trivaini and also distributed traditional types of plants to the people who attended the event. On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister called upon the people to plant maximum saplings and maintain them properly. He said that this campaign has been started by the Punjab government under the guidelines of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make the environment of the state clean and green.

While distributing saplings, Mr. Cheema appealed to the people that those who do not have a private space to plant saplings, should plant one sapling in any vacant place such as on the roadside or the side of a pond so that the environment could be saved for future generations.

S. Harpal Singh Cheema said that this campaign will make the surroundings green with the active participation of the people only. He said that there was a dire need to make sincere efforts to save the environment so that we can make the polluted environment green again.

On this occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Varjit Walia, D.F.O. Monica Yadav, SDM Dirba Rajesh Kumar Sharma, DSP Prithvi Singh Chahal, Tehsildar Jinsu Bansal, SHO Gurpratap Singh, Forest Department officials, local AAP leaders and important personalities of Gram Panchayat Rogla were also present.
