District Administration amicably resolves land dispute issue between MC & Waqf Board

Deputy Commissioner holds a meeting of authorities concerned, directed to implement status-quo as per previous structure

Jalandhar : The District Administration has amicably resolved the issue of land dispute between Waqf Board and Municipal Corporation by enforcing the status-quo as per the structure existed day before yesterday at the same land.

Holding a meeting in this regard at his office, Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh intervened in the parleys between the Municipal Corporation, representatives of Muslim community and officials of Waqf Board, which concluded with the decision of status-quo as per the previous structure.

The previous structure would be maintained, said the Deputy Commissioner adding that the land record from the Municipal Corporation, Waqf Board and the Sports Department had been sought so as to ascertain the veracity of the rights on this property.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the authorities to conduct a joint visit at the site for chalking out the implementation of status-quo within a short span of time.

Meanwhile, Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Kaplish, representatives of Muslim community, DCP (City) Jagmohan Singh, District Sports Officer Lovejit Singh and other officers went to the site and announced that the status-quo would be put in place by constructing the damage structure according to earlier one.
