Deputy Commissioner cum District Electoral Officer Isha Kalia visits sensitive booths in Dera Bassi constituency

Isha Kalia Reviewed the special arrangements made for women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities at booths

Dera Bassi: In view of the forthcoming Assembly elections, Mrs. Isha Kalia, Deputy Commissioner cum District Electoral Officer, SAS Nagar today visited the sensitive booths in the Dera Bassi constituency and also reviewed the special arrangements made at various booths for women, senior citizens and persons with disabilities. Mr. Kuldeep Bawa, SDM Dera Bassi also accompanied the Deputy Commissioner . The Deputy Commissioner directed the Sector Officers and BLOs to meet the dignitaries in their respective areas and also to maintain close liaison with the police so that in case of any election emergency, it would be dealt with efficiently .

The Deputy Commissioner first visited the Government Primary School in Baltana area where four booths have been set up in connection with the elections and then she visited the Strawberry School in Baltana area.Mrs. Isha Kalia also reviewed the arrangements at other sensitive booths by visiting Government High Smart School Dhakoli where five booths have been set up . The Deputy Commissioner sought information from BLOs on how many votes have been deducted at respective booths and how many new voters have been imducted. The Deputy Commissioner categorically directed the BLOs to ensure that as many new voters as possible of 18 to 19 years of age group are enrolled as voters. She asked them to go door to door to encourage the 18 to 19 years of age group to make their vote.
