Moga : The training academy run by the district administration Moga at Faqar Baba Damu Shah (Dharamkot) of village Lohara for the recruitment of youth in the Defense Forces is contributing to the golden future of the Lohara students. Boys and girls who want to get a job in the Defense Forces are getting free training from the academy and are constantly making a place in these examinations on merit. A marathon race was organized today to keep these trainees engaged in all kinds of activities and ensure their holistic development.In this marathon, Deputy Commissioner Mr Sandeep Hans and Sub Divisional Magistrate Dharamkot Narinder Singh ran with about 120 trainees of the academy. The marathon covered a distance of 12 km from Lohara Academy via Lohara Chowk, Dosanjh Road, Talwandi Bhangerian Bridge.After the marathon, Deputy Commissioner Mr Sandeep Hans said that no trainee would be allowed to face any difficulty here. “We must work hard to succeed,” he said. He asked the students to stay away from drugs and also to motivate their friends to stay away from them.It is to be mentioned that Kirandeep Kaur from village Landeke who joined the academy in 2019 and passed both the written and physical tests with good marks also participated in this race. The Deputy Commissioner wished him all the best and wished a bright future to all the trainees.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the academy was started to provide free coaching to the youth who have the opportunity but could not avail the coaching due to financial constraints. He said that apart from coaching, food and medical facilities were also being provided free of cost to the students undergoing training in the academy. Academy Coach Kismat Singh Brar said that this academy was opened in October 2018 with the help of Deputy Commissioner Moga Mr Sandeep Hans and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dharamkot-cum-Receiver Faqir Baba Damu Shah Narinder Singh. He said that in the Army Recruitment Rally held at Ludhiana in December 2020, 44 out of 47 students undergoing training from this academy have passed the physical examination and now they are preparing for the written examination which is very important for the academy. It is a matter of pride. He said that at present 70 boys and 15 girls were being coached in this academy for physical and written examinations for recruitment in various defence forces. Academy coach Gurjit Singh was also present on the occasion. Refreshments were also distributed to the trainees on the occasion.
