Sports kits to be distributed to youth clubs statewide under the campaign

‘Punjab Youth Development Board is committed towards development and welfare of the youth of the state’, said Sukhwinder Singh Bindra Chairman Punjab Youth Development Board (PYDB) and informed during the release of phamplet/brochure of campaign at Board’s office in Mohali that PYDB is to launch “Youth of Punjab Campaign” on January 7.

Chief Minister Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh is to launch the campaign from Ludhiana, which will be followed by district- wise distribution of sports kits in consultation with the local Deputy Commissioners as well as the District Coordinators of Youth Welfare Services.Er. Sukhwinder Singh Bindra selected the 5 best performing Youth Clubs of District SAS Nagar. These Youth Clubs would be felicitated and handed over sports kits by the Chief Minister Punjab during the launch ceremony of the campaign. Each kit includes cricket, volleyball and football equipment in a quantity sufficient to cater to about 50-70 players.He said that aim of the campaign is to wean away the youth from drugs, encourage sports culture in the youth as well as to channelize their energy in positive direction. Therefore, under the campaign, sports kits would be distributed to all the active rural sports clubs statewide.He divulged that the Youth Clubs can email to PYDB at [email protected] to send their documents supporting their activities during the last year to claim for enrolment for kits or they can contact via message or call at phone number 9577200003.Wishing the best of the year 2021 to the youth of Punjab, Sukhwinder Singh Bindra hoped that those budding players who are not so fortunate to afford their personal sports infrastructure or have no access sports equipment will avail maximum benefit out of the sports kits being provided to the rural youth clubs.Besides others, Charanjit Singh Assistant Director PYDB, Dr Karamjit Singh Deputy Director head Office Chandigarh and Rupinder Kaur Assistant Director, District Office, Mohali were present on the occasion.
