Cabinet Minister Aman Arora unveils ‘Khedan Halka Sunam Dian’ trophies

Sunam Udham Singh Wala : Punjab Information and Public Relations, New and Renewable Energy Sources, Housing and Urban Development and Printing and Stationery Minister Aman Arora, on Monday, unveiled the ‘Khedan Halka Punjab Dian’ trophies as the sports festival was set to start from February 4 at Bhai Mati Das Senior Secondary School Longowal.

The trophies would be awarded to the winners of the ‘Babu Bhagwan Das Arora Commemorative Sunam Super League’ with an aim to promote sports culture on the land of legendary martyr Shaheed Udham Singh.

Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that following the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, ‘Khedan Halka Sunam Dian’ were being organized to encourage the citizens from all sections of society to participate in the sports events.

He said that the trophies with a height of more than five feet have been specially designed to motivate the players for their best performances.Aman Arora said that as many as 207 teams of Sunam constituency have registered and around 2037 players will participate in the sports events in different categories.

He said that every player participating in these games will be given a T-shirt specially prepared for this Super League. Aman Arora said that ‘Babu Bhagwan Das Arora Foundation’ has regularly been doing various welfare works for the past many years and for the first time, a sports tournament was being organized on such a large level.

He said that this initiative has been taken to wipe the drug menace from the society and it would be made a successful event with the cooperation of all sections of society.Cabinet Minister said that recently ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Dian’ has been organized under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in which sportsmen participated enthusiastically.

He added that now, ‘Khedan Halka Sunam Dian’ were being organized at Shaheed Mati Das Senior Secondary School Longowal which would include sports events like Volleyball smashing and shooting and Tug of War.

He said that the winning teams will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 21,000, 11,000 as second prize and 5,100 as third prize. He said that Padma Shri Kaur Singh and Padma Shri Sunita Rani will also be honored specially for their distinguished achievements.
