Big Bonanza For Jalandhar Residents As Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Announces Grants Worth More Than Rs 100 Crore

Jalandhar : In a major bonanza for the residents of the Jalandhar Parliamentary segment, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday announced a grant of more than Rs 100 crore for development works of the Jalandhar district. The Chief Minister, while interacting with the media, said that he is personally indebted to the voters of Jalandhar Parliamentary segment for a thumping verdict in favor of the party.
He said that by pressing one button the residents of Jalandhar had shut the mouth of many who had been spitting venom against him during the campaign. Bhagwant Mann said that the result is a verdict in the favor of the pro-people and development oriented policies of the state government.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that the state government has transferred Rs 95 crore to Municipal Corporation Jalandhar for sprucing to the city. He said that these funds will be judiciously utilised by the civic body for the development works in the various parts of the city.
Bhagwant Mann said that Jalandhar city will be developed as a model city equipped with ultra modren civic amenities. Similarly, the Chief Minister said that work on Jalandhar-Adampur-Hoshiarpur road will be completed at a cost of Rs 13.74 crore.
He said that the work on this ambitious project will be completed by September. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann also said that the work for construction of 17.46 kilometre long Nakodar to Goraya road via Jandiala will also be completed by September.
The Chief Minister reiterated that voters of Jalandhar have rejected the negative and hatred based propaganda of traditional parties by giving verdict in favour of development oriented policies of the state government. He said that the voters of Jalandhar Parliamentary segment had casted votes in favour of schools of eminence, Aam Aadmi Clinics, unprecedented progress, well being of the people and others.
Bhagwant Mann said that while they had sought votes on the name of development, their opponents had demanded vote for the name of caste and sects. The Chief Minister said that people of Jalandhar had silenced opposition by giving a thumping mandate in favour of the state government adding that it is now their duty to pay back.
He said that the pristine glory of Jalandhar as sports hub of the country will be restored, adding that the sports industry of Jalandhar will get a major facelift. Bhagwant Mann said that no stone will be left unturned for giving impetus to the growth and development of this city.
The Chief Minister said that this victory has filled them with more humility and dedication to serve the masses. He said that even though the newly elected MP has not been sworn in, his government has already chalked out a comprehensive blueprint for holistic development of Jalandhar.
Bhagwant Mann said that Punjab is on path of resurgence as the government elected by people is dedicating new projects to people adding that for the first time the policies are being framed up after due consultations with people. The Chief Minister people had given befitting reply to the negative propaganda by the traditional parties by outrightly rejecting them.
He said all these parties had joined their hands against the pro-people state government but they have been taught a lesson by the people. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is committed for the well being of people and there is no dearth of funds for it.
The Chief Minister said that in order to save water and to ensure smooth irrigation for paddy cultivation, sowing of rice is being done in a staggered manner. He said that in the first phase transplantation in the areas beyond the fence across international border will start from June 10, for which regular power supply will be ensured to farmers adding that uninterrupted power from June 16 will be ensured in the second phase to seven districts viz.
Ferozepur, Faridkot, Pathankot, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurdaspur, SBS Nagar and Tarn Taran. Bhagwant Mann said that in third phase paddy transplantation will be ensured from June 19 in seven districts including Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Fazilka, Bathinda and Amritsar whereas in remaining nine districts of Patiala, Jalandhar, Moga, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Hoshiarpur, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Barnala and Mansa paddy transplantation will commence from June 21.
