Bharat Bhushan Ashu reviews ongoing Budha Nullah rejuvenation project

Ludhiana : Punjab Food, Civil and Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Tuesday took stock of the ongoing Budha Nullah rejuvenation project, anti-encroachment drive along Buddha Nullah and directed the officials to speed up the pace.After visiting the various points around Budha Nullah along with battery of officials yesterday, he said that as many as 3-km area along the Budha Nullah, has been cleared from encroachments and remaining part would also be free as soon as possible. Ashu asked MC officials and other departments to work in tandem with other departments to complete all the works including fencing, plantation, Sewage Treatment Plant and others started under Rs 650-crore Buddha Nullah Rejuvenation Project for timely completion.He assured the Ludhiana residents that very soon, the Budha Dariya would present a neat and clean look with clean water and beautification of embankments. He said that cleaning of around 14-kilometer long stretch of Budha Dariya is one of the ambitious projects of the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government. He also asserted that this project would be carried out in a transparent manner and not even a single penny of the public funds to be used for this project would be misused at any cost.Prominent among present on the occasion included Joint Commissioner Kulpreet Singh, Superintendent Engineer Rajinder Singh, Executive Engineers GP Singh, Ranbir Singh, District Town Planner Monika Anand, Assistant Town Planner Mohan Singh, Industrialists Rajat Sood, Harish Dua and Rahul Verma and others.
