After government assurance, sand Tipper Operators lift protest from Ladhowal toll plaza

MLAs Gogi & Sidhu meet protestors, mining starts in village Ratangarh

Ludhiana : The Ludhiana Tipper Association on Friday lifted their protest from Ladhowal Toll plaza after MLAs Gurpreet Bassi Gogi and Kulwant Singh Sidhu met them and assured that starting of mining operations in village Ratangarh of district Ludhiana.

MLAs Gogi and Sidhu told the operators that mining operations were started at a site in Ratangarh and remaining sites will also start operating in the coming days in the district.

They said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had given special instructions to immediately commence operations in the district from October 1 onwards.

They said that there was a complete ban on river sand mining during the rainy season from July 1 to September 30 in the Punjab but now monsoon season has ended and mining operations will now resume and tipper operators will start getting good business.

MLA Gogi said that after this matter came to his notice, he spoke to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and later a meeting was held between the CM and a delegation of tipper owners in this regard.Representatives of the Ludhiana Tipper Association thanked the government for resolving their issues.
