Punjab Government is committed for the development of youth: Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer

State level youth training workshop accomplished

Kharar : Youth is the future of our state and country, that is why the Punjab government is making maximum efforts for the development of the youth and meaningful results are also coming out.Under the series of these initiatives, camps and workshops are organised from time to time by the Youth Services Department, Punjab, for personality development of the youth.

These views were expressed by the Minister of Sports and Youth Services, Administrative Reforms, Water Resources, Mining and Geology, Science Technology and Environment, Punjab, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, here at Chandigarh University, Gharuan.

He was addressing the gathering as the chief guest during the closing ceremony of 05 days state level youth training workshop organised by the Youth Services Department, Punjab.
Mr. Meet Hayer congratulated the departmental officials and employees for the success of the workshop and also thanked the management of the Chandigarh University.

He said that such workshops contributes towards the personality of the youth significantly, when the youngsters from different regions meet each other, their knowledge about different regions also increases.

The chief guest especially encouraged the Bhangra team during the event. It is worth mentioning that this team had also won the first place at the national level. On this occasion, Mr. Meet Hayer also shared his life experiences.

The Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government has taken the initiative to promote sports culture in the state by organising Khedan Watan Punjab dian in which 60 thousand youngsters participated at the state level. During that the youth went to different districts and got a chance to know each other.

Addressing the event, Mr. Amit Talwar, Director, Youth Services Department, said that around 200 youngsters from across the state participated in this workshop. Youth have been made aware about prevention from drugs and other social evils.

Awareness sessions were also organised regarding the responsibilities towards society including road safety and health care. The opportunity for discussion with different artists was also given to the youth. He said that such camps will held throughout the year.

Cultural performances were also presented by the youth on this occasion. The chief guest encouraged the participants by giving them certificates. The Bhangra team was honored with the cheque of prize money.Departmental Officers and employees, SDM Kharar Ravinder Singh were honored by the chief guest.

The chief guest Mr. Gurmeet Singh Meet hayer was also honored by the organisers.On this occasion, Deputy Director Youth Services Department, Punjab, Kamaljit Singh Sidhu, Assistant Director, Punjab, Ms. Rupinder Kaur, along with officers from various departments were also present.
