Chandigarh : Protesting against Captain Amarinder Singh government, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs on Tuesday ferried on ‘Captain’s Jhoot Express’ carrying Captain Amarinder’s ‘Jhoot Bundle’ to the Punjab Assembly. The AAP MLAs said that Captain Amarinder had lied and betrayed the people of Punjab by making false promises. They said that in 2017, an outsider Prashant Kishore came to Punjab and made Captain Amarinder promise the world to the people of Punjab. “He played with the aspirations of the people and gave them false hope,” they added. The AAP MLAs said that four years later, this same outsider has come back to Punjab and is playing with the aspirations of the people yet again.”Prashant Kishore has converted the last budget into a bundle of lies meant for the 2022 assembly elections. Captain Amarinder Singh and his Principal Advisor are too busy in handing lollipops while not caring about the welfare of the people,” said the MLAs.
Taking a dig at Captain Amarinder Singh and his government, senior AAP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the same habit of lying to the people of Punjab has been displayed in this budget as well. He said that in this budget, the public transport has been made free for women, but the truth is that public buses are very scarce in Punjab, making this lollipop nothing but a gimmick.”Captain Amarinder Singh said that he would make Punjab a ‘Kushaal Punjab’, but all that he has done is increasing the debt trap of the state,” said Cheema. He further said that Captain had promised to revamp the education sector in Punjab, but the government has decreased its allocation for education this year. Cheema said that Captain also promised that he would revamp the health sector in Punjab, however, his government has decreased its allocation for health as well. “Captain promised that he would waive off farm loans, but his allocations for farm loan waiver has decreased this year. Pick any of his promise, Captain has failed in fulfilling any of them,” he added.
