AAP condemns HP government for proposing imposition of water cess on hydropower generation
Silence of LoP Partap Bajwa and Punjab Congress leadership on this grave issue, has once again exposed their anti-Punjab stand: Malvinder Singh Kang
Chandigarh : Drawing a sharp reaction from Punjab for proposing imposition of water cess on hydropower generation in Himachal Pradesh by Congress government, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday asked the Punjab Congress leadership to pressurize its government in the neighbouring state to rollback this anti-Punjab decision at once.
Addressing a press conference at party headquarters here, party’s state chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang along with spokesperson Neel Garg and Gobinder Mittal, squarely condemned this move of Congress government and said that the anti-Punjab stand of Punjab Congress leadership has once again been exposed with this decision.
Castigating the Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira and other state leadership for their silence on this anti-Punjab issue of HP government, AAP spokespersons said that this attitude of Punjab leaders have once again made it clear that Congress always worked to weaken the interest of Punjab.
Their sole agenda is to fill their own coffers and ignore welfare of the state and its people. They said that as the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) and Punjab State Power Corporation Limited’s (PSPCL) hydro projects in the hill state and will also come under its purview, the proposed bill will put additional financial burden on the Punjab, which is already struggling to bring the state’s economy back on track from the financial mess created by the previous governments.
