Aam Aadmi Party gains strength, ex-Army Captain, Congress leader among other personalities join party

Chandigarh : The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) convoy is increasing day by day in Punjab with eminent personalities joining the party. The party got a major boost when ex-Army Captain Tarsem Singh, Congress leader Ranjeet Kaur among other personalities joined the AAP at the party headquarters here on Thursday. Senior leader of the AAP and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema inducted the personalities into the party.Congress leader Ranjeet Kaur, is the current Panchayat member from Sathiyala village in Amritsar. Meanwhile, others who joined the party include Paramjeet Singh, president of All India SC Federation, ex-serviceman Havaldar Harjit Singh and Sarwan Singh, who has been active in politics for the last 15 years in Ferozepur, Fazilka and Sri Mukstar Sahib.Welcoming them into the party, LoP Harpal Singh Cheema said that influenced by the pro-people policies of the Aam Aadmi Party and the works of Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal government, people are joining the party in large numbers.

He said that the Kejriwal government has made Delhi’s government schools world-class and introduced a new model of development by improving the condition of government hospitals, the result of which is that today, the people across the country like the AAP and Arvind Kejriwal.Cheema said that today the people see AAP as the only credible alternative that can bring a real change in the state and make the lives of the people better. He said that the AAP will experience a wave of support in the upcoming 2022 elections as a massive number of people were committing to working for the party. Cheema said that today people of every section are coming together and joining the AAP to save Punjab and make it prosperous. Taking a dig at Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, he said that Captain is the most inefficient CM, who had betrayed the people of Punjab by making false promises. On the occasion, the personalities who joined the AAP said that whatever responsibility the party entrusts to them, they would work towards strengthening the party with full vigor and devotion.
