2 drug de-addiction centers and 6 OOAT clinics are operational in the district : Dr. Senu Duggal

Fazilka : Fazilka district administration is going to launch a campaign for the treatment of drug addicts. Therefore, two drug de-addiction centers and 6 OOAT Clinics are operational in the district for the treatment of such people. Sharing this information, the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Senu Duggal IAS, appealed to the people of the district that if someone is suffering from drug addiction, he or she can get free treatment from health department.

She said that two de-addiction centers are operational at Fazilka and Abohar where IPD services are available. This treatment is completely free. Apart from this, 6 OOAT Clinics are also operational at Rehabilitation Center Jattwali (Fazilka), Civil Hospitals Abohar and Jalalabad, CHC Khuikhera, Dabwala Kalan and Seetoguno.

Patients at OOAT Clinics do not have to be admitted and can take the medicine from here and take it home.Civil Surgeon Dr. Satish Goyal said that drug addiction is a disease and its treatment is possible after which a person can live a life like a normal citizen .

He said that those people who are suffering from drug addiction and are not taking treatment, first should immediately meet psychiatrist in the government hospitals of Abohar, Fazilka and Jalalabad. Treatment will be started after examination by psychiatrist.

Psychiatrist Dr. Mahesh Kumar said that in the initial period, the patient has to come to the hospital daily to take medicine, but later the patient can be given a weekly medicine. He said that after drug addiction treatment, the patient can become normal. Therefore, he appealed to people to get treatment He said that the identity of the person undergoing treatment is kept completely confidential.
