Punjab-based foundation bags road safety award

The chief functionary of Patiala Foundation Ravee Singh Ahluwalia was honoured for his outstanding work in road safety by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in New Delhi on Monday.Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways V K Singh honoured Ahluwalia as ‘Good Samaritan’ in the individual category

New Delhi : The chief functionary of Patiala Foundation Ravee Singh Ahluwalia was honoured for his outstanding work in road safety by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in New Delhi on Monday.Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways V K Singh honoured Ahluwalia as ‘Good Samaritan’ in the individual category at the inauguration of the National Road Safety Month at Vigyan Bhavan here.Ahluwalia has been doing social work for the last 12 years.He has also been awarded the Punjab State Award and District Award twice in the field of social service by Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.With continuous efforts to highlight the concept of road safety, Ahluwalia has designed an innovative “Children Challan Book” for school children which has been appreciated and documented as one of the good practices at the national level in 2020 by Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu.The launch of the state’s first helmet bank is again an exemplary contribution of Ahluwalia towards the safety of two-wheeler users.The foundation based in Patiala under Ahluwalia’s guidance holds reflective sticker camps regularly and is working on awareness generation activities among all stakeholders of the society.The foundation has also been accorded the special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC) since 2018.
