Bulletin on COVID-19 : JK reports 1895 new positive cases, 255145 recovered so far

Jammu : The Government on Tuesday informed that1895 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19),633 from Jammu division and 1262 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 292360.Also 32 COVID-19 deaths have been reported,17 from Jammu Division and 15 from Kashmir Division.Moreover, 3682 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1448 from Jammu Division and 2234 from Kashmir Division.According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 292360 positive cases, 33276 are Active Positive, 255145 have recovered and 3939have died; 1925in Jammu division and 2014 in Kashmir division.The Bulletin further said that out of 8605273test results available, 8312913 samples have been tested as negative till 1stJune, 2021.Till date 2100700 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 82467 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 33276 in isolation and 146091in home surveillance. Besides, 1834927 persons have completed their surveillance period.Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 65467 positive cases (including 304 cases reported today) with 4057 Active Positive, 60633recovered (including 589cases recovered today), 777 deaths; Baramulla has 21488 positive cases (including 161 cases reported today)with 2512Active Positive, 18716recovered (including 225 cases recovered today), 260 deaths; Budgam reported 20417positive cases (including181 cases reported today)with 2148 active positive cases, 18090 recovered (including 265cases recovered today), 179 deaths; Pulwama has 13241 positive cases (including 185 cases reported today)with2226Active Positive, 10844recovered (including 170 cases recovered today)and 171 deaths; Kupwara has 12178 positive cases (including 141 cases reported today), 1813 Active Positive, 10220recoveries (including 189 cases recovered today), 145deaths; Anantnag district has 14638 positive cases (including 85 cases reported today)with 3581 Active Positive, 10895recovered (including 300 cases recovered today), 162 deaths; Bandipora has 8489 positive cases (including52 cases reported today), with850Active Positive and 7547 recoveries (including 99cases recovered today),92 deaths; Ganderbal has 8805 positive cases (including 61cases reported today)with 1217Active Positive, 7519 recoveries (including 121 cases recovered today)and69deaths; Kulgam has 9943 positive cases (including 66 cases reported today)with 1514 Active Positive, 8325recoveries (including214 cases recovered today)and 104 deaths while as Shopian has 5334 positive cases (including 26 cases reported today),1129active positive cases, 4150 recoveries (including 62 cases recovered today)and55 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 50893 positive cases (including 218 cases reported today) with 5329 active positive cases, 44488recoveries (including 497 cases recovered today), 1076 deaths; Udhampur has 10639 positive cases (including 52cases reported today), 603active positive cases, 9910 recoveries (including133 cases recovered today)and126deaths; Rajouri has 9742 positive cases (including 64 cases reported today)with 1167active positive, 8389recoveries (including 367 cases recovered today)and 186deaths; Doda has 5784 positive cases (including 73cases reported today)with1112Active positive, 4582recovered (including 96 cases recovered today)and 90deaths; Kathua has 8805 positive cases (including 50 cases reported today), 480 active positive cases, 8193recovered(including 50cases recovered today) and 132deaths; Kishtwar has 4013 positive cases (including 24 cases reported today)with 270 Active Positive, 3709 recoveriesand34 deaths; Samba has 6776 positive cases (including 45 cases reported today)with 1120 active positive cases, 5544 recoveries (including 161cases recovered today)and 112 deaths; Poonch has 5267 positive cases (including 60 cases reported today)with925active positive, 4263recoveriesand 79 deaths; Ramban has 5127 positive cases (including 39 cases reported today)with758 active positive cases, 4316 recoveries (including 117 cases recovered today)and 53 deaths while Reasi has 5314 positive (including 08 cases reported today)with 465 active positive cases, 4812 recoveries (including27 cases recovered today)and 37 deaths.According to the bulletin, among the total 292360 positive cases in J&K, 21598have been reported as travelers while 270762as others.The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.The bulletin added that there are 3123 COVID dedicated beds, 2698 Isolation beds with 2122vacant beds and 425 ICU beds where 259 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2853 COVID dedicated beds, 2699 Isolation beds where 1426 beds are vacant and 154 ICU beds where 85are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 5976 COVID dedicated beds, 5397 Isolation beds with 3548 beds vacant and 579 ICU beds with 344vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing allnecessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.The government has also started free tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install esanjeevani OPD app from google play store.Besides, 24×7 Rapid Antigen Testing facility for COVID-19 has been started outside the emergency of GMC Hospital Jammu. The facility will be very useful for segregation of patients in emergency wing of GMC Jammu.Meanwhile, a 24×7 COVID Control Room has been set up for redressal of the grievances related to COVID-19 positive patients admitted in the Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College, Jammu and Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Patients or attendants can call at 0191– 258 5444 (Control Room), Exchange: 0191-258 2626 / 258 5542 / 258 4290 /258 4291 / 258 4292 / 258 4293/ 258 4294 for assistance.The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 meter from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.The bulletin again explained that early detection of COVID-19 can prevent the spread of disease so we need to be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us. “Not disclosing symptoms could put life of individuals and their families at risk. In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early.

The department so far has provided medicine to 18.21 lakh people that include various frontline workers, senior citizens, PRIs, police/paramilitary personals and general masses.
