World TB Day: DC Rajouri Vikas Kundal calls for united fight

Pledges to make all panchayats TB-free by 2025

Rajouri : World Tuberculosis Day was observed at the office of Chief Medical Officer today. Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal was the chief guest on the event organised to generate awareness about tuberculosis and its impact on the community.

Chief Medical Officer Rajouri spoke about the global fight against the disease and the importance of diagnosing and treating it early. He also highlighted the need for better access to health care and improved hygiene practices and emphasised the importance of preventive efforts.

The importance of continued collaboration among stakeholders to eliminate TB was stressed. Increased public awareness about this infectious disease and its preventative measures was advocated to ensure that everyone had access to quality healthcare.
During the event, the Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri emphasised the importance of creating awareness about tuberculosis and urged everyone to play their part in eliminating TB by 2025.
He stressed the need for increased efforts to identify and treat people with TB, particularly in vulnerable communities. He also highlighted the role of Nikshay Mitras, community volunteers who identify and refer people with TB for treatment.
The Deputy Commissioner asked students present at the event to act as messengers in raising awareness against TB and encouraged them to spread the word about TB screening and treatment in their communities.
The event concluded with the start of an awareness rally of students who will walk through the busy market of Jawhar Nagar to raise awareness about Tuberculosis among commuters.
CMO, Dr Rajinder Kumar; Dy CMO, Dr Manohar Rana; DTO, Dr Khalid Mansoor; District Information Officer, Narinder Kumar and other officers were present on the occasion.
