World Environment Day celebrated across Bandipora

Bandipora : To raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage global action to protect the planet, World Environment Day was today celebrated across Bandipora district.On the occasion, programs were organised across the district schools, colleges and municipalities, besides rallies were also carried out at various places.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad in his message said that the day serves as a platform for individuals, communities, and government to come together and promote sustainable practices and initiatives.
He said various programs were organised across the district, including clean-up drives, educational programs, awareness workshops, and seminars focused on environmental conservation and sustainable development.Dr. Owais stressed on encouraging individuals and organizations to take concrete steps towards a more sustainable future.
The school education department Bandipora, also organised events in all schools throughout the district, which commenced with oath-taking ceremonies where faculty members and students pledged to protect and preserve the environment.
To encourage creative expression and critical thinking, painting competitions on the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ were also organized in schools of the district besides tree plantation drives were also held.
