Weekly Block Diwas meetings held across district Ramban

Ramban : District Administration Ramban today conducted mega Block Diwas meetings across the district to resolve grievances and other issues of the general public at their doorsteps.Chairperson District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan, Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam, DDC Councillor, Shaki Mohammed, SDM, Gool, Gias ul Haq, and several other Public representatives, officers and General public attended the Block Diwas meeting at Gool.The DDC Chairperson impressed upon the concerned officers to accelerate the pace of the progress to achieve 100 percent physical and financial targets under DDC, BDC & Panchayat Area Development Fund. She directed Executive Engineer, REW to immediately complete the retendering process for the works which received poor response.She directed the District and Sectoral officers to resolve the issues raised by the public on priority basis. She asked PRIs to share the list of 5 to 7 youth of every panchayat for engaging them as contractors for Panchayat level works.The DDC Chairperson directed PDD to follow power curtailment schedule in Gool. She was informed about the works taken-up for the development of Gool area. She asked the District Administration to prepare a plan for the construction of Sherkunda road.

Responding to the issue of power supply, the DC urged people to utilize power judiciously and regularize their power connections to avail regular supply, especially during the winter season.He directed Executive Engineer JPDCL to disconnect all illegal connections by conducting frequent checking. He warned that strict action will be taken against those found involved in the power theft.Expressing concern over low literacy rate, the DC directed CEO to take corrective measures by launching enrolment drives and improving quality of education in the schools.The DC also informed the people about ongoing water supply schemes taken-up by the Jal Shakti Department under Jal Jeeven Mission in Gool Sub- division to provide functional tap connection to every household.The DC also sensitized the people about the PMEGP, Tajsawani, PM- SEHAT, e-Shram and other self employment and beneficiary oriented schemes. He also encouraged the youth to take advantage of schemes being implemented by different departments under Mission Youth & KVIC in the district. Meanwhile, the DC informed that the issue of construction and repair of existing Panchayat Ghars has already been taken-up with the higher authority by the District Administration.Earlier, people and PRIs highlighted their issues and demanded end of unscheduled power cuts, up-gradation of Gool to Salbala road, release of pending payment under Watershed scheme for Mahakund, adequate Staff in schools, Bus stand for Gool, Transformer for Tungali, Ration cards issues, opening of Tehsil Social Welfare Office, Completion of Kalimasta road, awareness about Agriculture schemes, Road for HS Salbala, Construction of KV Building at Gool, release of pending land compensations, completion of TRC building and up-gradation of Gorha Gali to Dachan road.
