Appeals public to join hands with admin in fight against drug menace

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a Block Diwas public outreach camp here at Kalalkass of block Dhangri.BDC Dhangri, Tazeem Akhter; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACD, Vijay Kumar; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; CAO, Sohan Singh; CMO, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar; CEO Education, Shailash Kumari; DSHO, Dr Sarfraz Naseem Chowdhary; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt and other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.

During the event, the public and their representatives highlighted a wide range of issues and demands of their areas. They demanded macadamization of roads, up-gradation of government institutions, meeting paucity of staff, provision of better health care facilities etc.

Specific issues projected during the event included sanctioning of JK Bank Branch, meeting scarcity of water, speedy implementation of JJM, construction of bridge at HS Kalal Kass, speedy completion of Jamola-Rethala bridge, road connectivity to Ladyote Panchayat etc.

The PRIs also demanded electricity poles, renovation of GHS Ladyote and filling of vacant posts of teachers in the school, Panchayat Ghar and dispensary at Ladyote, construction of road from Churra Gali to Ladyote, Renovation of road from Palma to Kalal Kass etc.

Officers of different departments also briefed the public about the government schemes being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same. They also responded to the queries pertaining to their departments raised by the public during the event.

While responding to the issue of scarcity of water, the SE Hydraulics, JP Singh informed that 17 schemes have been approved under JJM at an estimated cost of Rs 97 crore for block Dhangri. The tenders for 06 schemes out of 17 schemes have also been allotted.

Responding to the shortage of electricity poles, the concerned officer from PDD assured that an adequate number of electricity poles would be provided under the RDSS scheme.The Chief Medical Officer, while responding to the demands regarding Health Sector, apprised them about a number of schemes of the department.

He also highlighted Ni-kshay Mitras initiative which aims to ensure three-pronged support to the TB patients including Nutritional, Additional diagnostic and Vocational support.The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner.

Addressing the gathering, the DDC said that the Block Diwas ensures doorstep public service delivery and redressal of the genuine grievances of the common man.The DDC also said that the district administration is working on a multipronged strategy for the holistic development of all the areas of the district and every sector is being pushed to achieve the desired results on ground.

He called for coordination among the departments and PRIs to achieve desired development objectives besides timely intervention and action to mitigate the sufferings of the people.Underlining measures being taken to make service delivery mechanisms easily accessible to the public, he said that all the departments of the district are working with proper dedication to ensure that the benefits of government services reaches to the last beneficiary of the district.

He also highlighted services being provided by different departments through online mode and urged the public to avail the benefits of the same.Stressing on covering all eligible beneficiaries under AB-PMJAY SEHAT, he asked the officers and PRIs to work in tandem and ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left from availing the benefits of the scheme.

Discussing the measures to eradicate drug abuse, the DDC urged all the officers to devise a multi-pronged strategy covering the identification of addicts, their rehabilitation and counseling, and awareness campaigns.

He also sought the active cooperation of the general public in this regard.Enumerating the measures being taken for the solid waste management in the rural areas, the DDC said that 178 segregation units have been approved in the district where segregation of solid waste would be carried out.

He also asked the officers to make dedicated efforts for the effective management of grey water in rural areas. Regarding repair and renovation of school buildings, he assured that appropriate measures would be taken in this regard.

While responding to the public issues, the DDC said that timely and quality disposal of the issues of the general public is the top priority of the district administration.He also passed on spot directions to the concerned departments for ensuring the redressal of the issues highlighted by people on priority and in a time bound manner.
