Weekly Block Diwas : DDC Chairman Doda, DC other district heads listen to public grievances

Officers asked to review action taken on public issues quarterly

Doda : District Administration Doda, in its efforts to resolve the public grievances at people’s doorsteps as part of weekly block Diwas programme, District Development Council Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Sharma and several other teams of officers today conducted public outreach programmes across the district.

This Wednesday Block Diwas program was held at Government High School in Panchayat Kharangal, (Gandoh), Madhai Park in Middle Sharote, (Thathri), PWD Guest House Kurmail, (Assar), High School Manthala, (Bhaderwah) and Panchayat Goha Marmat.

The District Development Council Chairman and the Deputy Commissioner took stock of public grievances at Manthala, Bhaderwah. They interacted with PRIs and the public. A number of demands/ grievances were put forth by the PRIs and general public.

On the issue of water shortage and other issues concerning Jal Shakti department, the SE Hydraulics was instructed to visit the area within a week along with concerned Ex En to resolve the genuine public issues.

Responding to the demand for an ATM and a Bank branch in the area, Cluster Head JK Bank was asked to check the feasibility as per the bank norms and submit the report.

The locals were further assured to take up the demand for installation of a telecommunication tower to resolve the poor network problem with the service providers.

The concerned officers were directed to pay in time the land compensation acquired for various developmental projects and the wages to the daily rated workers engaged by different departments.

About the Damunda to Jai Road link and Circular road, the PWD and Forest department were directed to clear all the formalities in one week to facilitate the early execution of the work.

The Food and Civil Supplies Department was asked to report the decision of the administrative department on submission of a technical feasibility report for the establishment of Food Stores at Kansar and Thuba.

The DC directed the district heads to review the action taken on public grievances raised during the Block Diwas programmes quarterly so that the genuine issues were addressed in a time bound manner.

The DDC Chairman, while responding to the public issues, appealed to the PRIs and the public to Cooperate with administration to attain collective and inclusive development in the district.

At other designated locations which included Panchayat Kharangal, (Gandoh), Madhai Park in Middle Sharote, (Thathri), PWD Guest House Kurmail, (Assar) and Panchayat Goha Marmat, the day long Block Diwas proceedings were attended by a large number of people and local PRIs.

The Public and PRIs put forth a range of issues and demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.

The Presiding officers of the Block Diwas gave patient hearing and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.

As many as 102 grievances/ applications were received at all locations out of which 97 were disposed of on the spot. Besides, 20 Domicile certificates, 02 Category certificates, 05 birth/ death certificates were issued to the eligible beneficiaries.

Four eligible beneficiaries were also issued KCC. 1000 works under MGNREGA, District Capex, 14th FC and other schemes were also started during the day.
