Week-long Jan Shehri Abhiyan awareness under MTMP continues in Kathua

Kathua : Multifarious activities were held across all six Municipal areas of Kathua district on the fifth day of the ongoing “Jan Abhiyan Shehri”- a prelude to ambitious My Town My Pride Programme 2.0 Deputy Secretary, Planning Development & Monitoring Department, Sonu Pargal visited Municipal Council Kathua & Municipal Committee Parole.

The Deputy Secretary inspected stalls put up by different line departments and advised the officers to strive for full saturation of all the deliverables prescribed by the Government. He called for reaching out to maximum people and educating them about the job oriented schemes which are one of the aims of Jan Abhiyan Shehri under My Town My Pride Programme 2.0.

The Deputy Secretary also interacted with the general public and appealed them to take benefit of the initiative of ‘Jan Abhiyan Shehri’ and ‘My Town My Pride’ wherein departments are coming at their doorsteps to aware and educate people about opportunities being given by the government departments through schemes and programmes for upliftment of socio economic conditions of the people.

The Deputy Secretary also sensitized the participants, especially students about the Nasha Mukth Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan besides asking them to refrain from evils like drug addiction and enjoy Healthy and Safe life.

President MC Parole, Anil Singh, Vice President Bablu Kumar, Councillor Beta Rani, EO Kathua, Santosh Kotwal and EO, Parole P.R. Sangra were also present. Similar activities were also held in other municipal areas of the district.

The departments conducted awareness camps and extended services to the inhabitants of municipal areas under different schemes and programmes of the government. Later Deputy Secretary along with District Statistics & Evaluation Officer Kathua, Ranjeet Thakur and representatives of PWD also conducted physical verification of developmental works/projects executed by PWD (R&B) Division Kathua under UT sector during the year 2021-22 in both the towns.

Earlier, Deputy Secretary, ADC Kathua Atul Gupta and Chief Planning Officer Kathua Uttam Singh discussed the achievements made during Jan Abhiyan under various deliverables set by the Government.
