Revitalization of Youth Clubs : DC Ramban Mussarat Islam presides over mega awareness programme under Mission youth

Ramban : District Administration Ramban today organized an awareness cum registration programme on livelihood generating schemes of Mission Youth, as part of Revitalization of Youth Clubs.
It was a part of the series of Youth Engagement Programmes at Sub-Division level which concluded today which aimed at facilitating their venturing into sustainable livelihood.

The Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam was the chief guest on the occasion. Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Gias-Ul-Haq, GM,DIC,Ravinder Kumar, AD Employment & Counselling Centre, Shushant Mahajan and various senior officers were present on the occasion.

The programme was aimed to educate the youth about opportunities of self-employment that can be availed through different livelihood generating schemes rolled out by the government for the aspiring youth besides educating individuals, particularly youth about the associated dangers of drug abuse.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged the unemployed youth to take part in these programmes and get themselves registered for different programmes of livelihood generation.

He also appealed to the unemployed youth to take a keen interest in self-employment and become entrepreneurs to generate livelihood for themselves and others as well, adding that the Government is committed to their hand-holding under the ambitious Mission Youth Programme.

The DC also sensitized the youth about the various job oriented and other government sponsored schemes including PMEGP, TAJSAWANI, MUMKIN and other self employment schemes.

He also encouraged the youth to take advantage of schemes being implemented by different departments under Mission Youth & KVIC in the district. The event brought together experts from various fields and departments to share their knowledge and experience with educated unemployed youth on livelihood generating schemes.

DC said that the objective of the programme was to hold an interactive session to increase their awareness about Mission Youth and government schemes of sustainable livelihood as the youth have not been able to avail the government sponsored schemes like Mumkin, Tejasvini, Agro and Horticulture based industry related schemes in Ramban which is primarily a rural area.

“Youth showed good enthusiasm and I am sure that we have been able to impact many a budding entrepreneurs who would establish industries in Ramban”, he said.

Similarly, an awareness cum registration programme was held at block heaquarter, Gool and Ramsoo where Sub Divisional Magistrate, Gool Tanveer Ul-Majid and SDM Ramsoo Zaheer Abass presided over the programme.

Various representatives of different departments and large number of local youth and PRIs participated in the camps. The SDM Gool emphasized the importance of creating awareness and spreading knowledge on these topics to prevent drug abuse and promote sustainable livelihood.

He also highlighted the need for community involvement and support in addressing these issues. SDM Ramsoo also aware the youth about various government and private initiatives that aim to provide livelihood opportunities to individuals and communities.

These awareness and mapping programmes were held on accelerating livelihood generation programme of Mission Youth in collaboration with Labour and Employment Department, Rural Development Department, EDI, J&K Bank, KVIB, DIC, Horticulture, Agriculture, Sheep and Animal Husbandry and other departments.
