Seeks effective implementation of people friendly initiatives launched by Govt

Udhampur : Juhi Pathania, Vice Chairperson, District Development Council Udhampur today emphasised that a responsive administration is the very essence of good governance. She said that a host of public friendly laws, good practices and arrangements have been put in place to promote Good Governance practices by the government.Addressing people/PRIs on the eve of ‘Good Governance Week’ at Panchayat Bhawan, Dhema (Majalta), Juhi Pathania said that it is high time that the general public is made aware of the same and the administration also follows them in letter and spirit. She further emphasised on the need for effective implementation of Public Services Guarantee Act by the administration and an enabling response from the citizens.The Vice Chairperson called for making programmes like Block Divas, Back 2Village, Union Ministers’ outreach and other initiatives of the government more comprehensive, meaningful and target oriented. She underscored the need for making PMAY enlistment transparent and more public friendly. She sought the government’s intervention to ensure that only deserving persons get the benefit of the scheme in Panchayats of block Khoon. She urged RDD authorities to take a strict note of the complaints, if any.She called for immediate renovation of Dhema to Thial road, Thial to Chountra Mata road, Nakki – Omara, Kamtala to Babey within the specified defect liability period.

She further called for ensuring quality education and healthcare in the block. She further pressed upon the local administrative set-up to tone up in line with the needs and sensitivities of the public. She further underscored the need for instilling faith among the public about the government and governance.Meanwhile, she declared YSS cup 2021 open at Thail Chauhan where a host of teams and sports lovers were present amongst a sea of enthusiasm and adrenaline flow. Amit Sharma, DDC Majalta & PRIs of Panchayat Thail and surrounding areas remained present. She also inaugurated additional classrooms built under JTRP (Jhelum-Tawi Recovery Project) at the cost of Rs 71 lakh.She also inaugurated work of Motorable bridge at Nalah Pada, W.No-07 to be built at a cost of Rs 3.50 lakh and Foot Bridge over Nalla Batataat at a cost of Rs 3.90 lacs at Pyt S.K.Ber. She further had on spot appraisal of the drinking water supply and power availability in light of the strike and stir of employees of JPDCL. She appealed to the government to immediately resolve the stalemate and ensure that power supply is restored to all the areas.She was accompanied by functionaries of RDD, PWD, PMGSY, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Revenue, Police and Education.Other prominent people present were Kuldeep Singh, Shiv Ram, Mohan Lal, Raman Khajuria, Nisha Devi, Soma Devi and Surinder Singh, Manoj Verma- all Sarpanches and other PRIs and respectable people of the area.
