DC Shopian, CE MED visit various areas, oversees snow clearance operation

Shopian : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin today along with Chief Engineer Mechanical Engineering Division (MED) visited various Snow affected far-flung and remote areas to oversee snow clearance operations in the district.During the visit it was observed that owing to heavy snow accumulation, extra heavy machinery including Snow Rolbas were pressed into action by MED to clear the main and interior roads on priority basis.They also visited Keller Hospital and Zampathri to take stock of the situation arised due to heavy snowfall.The DC said that the services of the MED were utilized to aid efforts to clear the snow from interior roads across the district besides large numbers of men and machinery were involved in the massive effort.He also said that most of the services have been restored and assured of earliest possible clearance of snow from all remaining interior roads across the district.
