DDC Kulgam reviews I-Day, Eid-ul- Adha arrangements

Kulgam : District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today convened a meeting to finalize the arrangements for the smooth celebration of Independence Day here.The meeting discussed the venue for the main function, fool-proof security arrangements, decoration, salute by March past contingents of JKP, CRPF and others and playing of Shahnai Vadan.Other necessary arrangements that were also finalized include, Medical Facility, Drinking water facility, uninterrupted Power supply, Sanitation and Seating arrangement with proper social distancing in view of COVID-19 pandemic.The DDC asked the officer to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in time and adopt a coordinated approach for the smooth celebration of the Independence Day function.It was also decided that a full dress rehearsal shall be held on August 13, 2020.Later the DC chaired a separate meeting of officers to review the arrangements put in place for the ensuing festival of Eid ul Adha.The DC emphasized on PDD and PHE to ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supply across the district during the festival days.He also directed EO’s of Municipal Committees to ensure proper sanitation and regular lifting of garbage around religious and market places.The DC directed the concerned officers to intensify market checking and ensure that the commodities including essential items are sold as per the rate list already notified by the concerned departments.Among others, ADDC, ADC, A-SP, ACR, JD-Planning, Ex Er. PWD (R&B), PHE, ARTO and EO’s besides other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
