Kishtwar admin targets to register 21355 construction workers under MMP

Kishtwar : District Administration Kishtwar has targeted to register 21355 Building and other Construction workers under the Mission Mode Project (MMP).The information was given at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara convened to review the progress made so far.Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch, CO 188, RCC, Assistant labour Commissioner, Anoop Kumar, EO Municipal Council Kishtwar, Tariq Parveez Balwan, AEE PWD(R&B) besides representatives of other line departments attended the meeting.At the outset, Assistant Labour Commissioner said that a target of registering 21355 workers, including 7859 new and 13496 inactive workers has been set under MMP for the district.He said a month long schedule of the camps has been notified which has been given wide publicity through various modes of social, print and electronic media for the information of the stakeholders. He further said that chairpersons of Block Development Council and Municipal Committees along with the PRI members have also been asked to disseminate the information regarding the scheduled dates of camps among the masses and also remain present on the day of camp at their respective places.The DDC asked the ACD and Chief Medical Officer to co-operate with the Labour department during the camps so that issuance of Employment Certificates and issuance of age certificates can be facilitated on the spot to achieve the targets well in time.It was informed that the services of the VLWs, GRSs and PRI members has been utilized to disseminate the awareness about the schedule of the camps and maximum participation of MGNREGA workers shall be ensured at these camps.
The District Heads of PWD, PMGSY, JKPCC and CVPP were also asked to ensure the participation of their workers on the scheduled date for the registration. They were also asked to educate the workers about the various schemes of labour department.The DDC further asked ALC Kishtwar to provide sufficient IEC material to the departments for awareness generation about the various Schemes of labour department.
