Jammu I&C Directorate hosts awareness event on Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan

A two day awareness cum interaction programme on “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan / Self Reliant India Movement” involving representatives of industrial Associations, Bankers and functionaries of Industries and Commerce Department, concluded today.The event was held under the guidance of Commissioner/Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, and on the directions of Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu, Anoo Malhotra. Joint Director (M&P) Trishla Kumari presided over the programme.The Members of Industrial associations led by the Presidents, senior officers of Department of Industries and Commerce, representatives of scheduled commercial Banks including HDFC, ICICI, Canara Bank along with the officers from Jammu DIC, Udhampur DIC, Kathua DIC, Samba DIC, Reasi DIC, Doda DIC, Rajouri DIC, Poonch DIC, Ramban DIC and Kishtwar participated in the sessions.Entrepreneurs from far-flung regions of Jammu Division also attended the programme and benefited from the interaction.At the outset of the programme, Joint Director welcomed all the participants. She apprised the participants that due to Pandemic COVID-19, Government of India, and Ministry of Finance have announced various schemes to strengthen and to mitigate the problems being faced in various sector including MSME Sector.
In order to ensure that the benefits of such schemes reach to all the eligible units registered with DICs as MSME, it is the need of the hour to work jointly to achieve the set targets to enable them to avail the benefits.Later, a threadbare discussion on ‘Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) was held.Representatives from Canara Bank highlighted that the purpose of the Scheme is to provide 100% guarantee coverage to the GECL, which shall be a pre-approved sanction limit of up to 20% of loan outstanding as on 29th February, 2020 to the eligible borrowers, in the form of additional working capital term loan facility.Representatives of HDFC, ICICI and Canara Bank informed about credit support for all its borrowers who have been affected by the COVID-19. They also advised the budding entrepreneurs to run their accounts smoothly to avoid it to turn into NPA in adverse times.The officers also held deliberations on Udyam Registration Portal launched on 1st of July, 2020 by Ministry of MSME.The Joint Director, Industries and Commerce, Jammu Trishala Kumari informed the entrepreneurs that as per Udyam registration notification, the persons who intend to establish MSME units may file Udyam registration. It was informed that those who have EM-II or UAM registration or any other registration issued by any authority under the Ministry of MSME, will have to re-register themselves.
